Do you guys understand that we have a function where you can make A POLL? Everybody can vote, the totals are kept up to date, and everybody can post their personal comments. Give it a shot next time when you want to do comparisons.
I need to listen to Born to Run again. Since I already know that London Calling will win, I'll vote for Born to Run. I'm not being cynically flippant (at least anymore than usual); I just find it too close to call w/o listening again, and since I'm already here, I might as well vote.

I don't like both albums much, but I'd go for London Calling. Nebraska however would easily win over the Clash debut (both being my favourites of the respective artists).

Easy one for me as I couldn't care less about Springsteen. London Calling.
"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas
While both albums are in my top 10 for sure, the only problem I have with London Calling is the amount of songs. I'm not a big fan of albums that go 16, 17, 18, songs deep- more opportunity to make a crap song.
It ain't even a question. Bruce Springsteen may just be the most bloated, overproduced, overrated "rock star" of all time. "London Calling" is one of the most revolutionary albums of all time. Where is the debate here?
I'm surprised how many people here dislike one album and love the other. They're both great albums, man.
But London Calling is the greater. Springsteen is no match for the creative force of the Clash showcased in that album. With London Calling, it seemed that anything the Clash did was golden (unfortunately they proved that wrong with Sandinista , but still).

I agree with a previous poster...both are great albums. Around 1977 when I discovered BTR, I was 17 and it blew my mind, blew my world. Nothing else sounde dlike that album. For many summers thereafter, the closing song of the night in my car was Jungleland.
I think London Calling came out in 1980??? In any event, I was in college, and the album was played just everywhere as you walked around campus. (UNH) The increased prodcution values over their previous lps was a pure ear candy...especially given what most college students DO in their spare time.
Ironically, London Calling was probably the lp that pulled me out of my Springsteen disciple stage.

Well, since Springsteen is God, I'll have to vote BTR. I need to listen to LC again, though, as it's been a few years and I didn't care for it much then.
