i may be mentally lackin on this.. but recently it seems that amongst the rap and hip hop, that rock has had a slight comeback, a wave of renewal. with top releases from red hot chili peppers, pearl jam, tool, and others and also with tops hits from bands such as seether, hinder, and wolfmother that rock just may be coming back to us, but then again i could be completely wrong, tell me what you

Are you talking about a comeback in number of albums sold, number of rock albums compared to rap/hip hop albums, or quality of music? I guess you could argue that there is a comeback beginning, but that isn't enough evidence to make a definite statement.

Out of all the bands you named, I think Pearl Jam and Wolfmother are the only ones worth mentioning. I was really disappointed with the new RHCP, and especially Tool. Stadium Arcadium and 10,000 Days sound pretty stale and rehashed, when you compare them to previous releases.

Like LordSmoogsbottom said, I don't think there's enough evidence to advocate one opinion or another. It's all marketing...look at what's replacing traditional pop on top 40 radio... Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, My Chemical Romance, etc....suburban angst-ridden, pseudo-rock is trendy right now.

riiiight.

Yeah, being the big zeppelin and sabbath fan i am, i'm pretty interested in Wolfmother's sound. I haven't heard much of their stuff, but i'm sure it'll be interesting to see what they come up with in the next few years. who knows, we could have a top rock act, and they could even inspire other bands.

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
