Influential rocker Arthur Lee dies in Memphis

I feel much the same way as I felt about the passing of Syd Barrett. He was such a remarkable trailblazer and gave so much in such a short time. I'm only sorry that his own personal demonds kept him from exploring that potential more in subsequent years.

I'm also sorry that forty years down the road, it's still out of the ordinary to have a multi-racial rock band. He was ahead of his time in so many ways.

Thank You, LinnTate I just found out the news while searching on the web. I feel depressed this is the worst thing that could happen to me today. Arthur Lee was a genius and Love was one of my all-time favorite bands. I always thought they were underrated and had more talent than many other of the pyschedelic rock outfits. He was an inspiration and always put up a fight all I can say is "Yeah, I heard a funny thing somebody said to me, You know that I could be in love with almost everyone, I think that people are the greatest fun, And I will be alone again tonight my dear". God Bless!

I think that if you are a Love fan like myself and LinnTate here you should take out your favorite record by them and listen to the whole thing. In memory of Arthur Lee.

If it's still available, the double-disc Love Story 1966-1972 is a very good compilation of Love's first three albums. A good introduction collection is the single cd, Best of Love, which has different tracks than the LP version. "She Comes in Colors" is my favorite Arthur Lee penned song. RIP Mr.Lee.

OMGWTFBBQ?!

I don't know very many Love songs, but I have heard 'Alone Again Or', which is an excellent song, not least because it had an awesome trumpet solo.

Seriously, though. Is this a bad month for '60s psychedelic rock casualties or what?
