I'd probably have to go with Zep II, even though I'm sure a lot of people will go with IV. It's insane how many tracks off this album are classic rock staples. Even if you don't own the album, I'm sure you've heard at least 7 of these 9 songs on the radio. It could almost double as a greatest hits compilation.

And though it's not on the list, I'd like to give a shout out to Zep III, which contains my single favorite Led Zeppelin song, "Tangerine".

How can you be a Zeppelin fan and then butcher the spelling of every single album in your poll?

Led Zeppelin IV (Although it's not really called Zep IV)

I would personally say their best album is Physical Graffiti.

If I had to choose, I'd say Zep I, followed closely by Zep II, then IV, then III... But I tend to group all of Zep's work together as one body of music and just call it the greatest rock music every made in the history of mankind by the greatest rock band that will ever be.

So, I suppose I prefer the box set.

I'd say...IV, then I, then III.

II I really liked originally but it kind of died on me. It's IV and I that really still resonated with me after I 'Got over' Zeppelin.

I would agree with Bob. II was the first Zep album that died for me. Our local classic rock station plays every track on that record, it seems like everyday. My personal favorite Zeppelin album is Physical Graffiti, followed closely by Presence.

My top four would probably be II, I, IV, and Houses of the Holy. I never get sick of hearing the songs off II, even if like Crowdiggs said, I could probably hear almost the entire album by switching around the classic rock stations on the radio.

I've always loved I through IV. I think that all of Zeppelin's music was groundbreaking and awesome rock music, but their early stuff will always remain on my turntable.

My personal fave from the Led Zep catalogue is 'Physical Graffiti'. It's an album which I feel was produced by slighty more seasoned musicians then the first 4 albums.
As I was saying in the other thread its like how 'Achtung Baby' is to U2 - the culmination of creative youth turned older!

BTW what happened to Led Zep III in the poll?

It’s all right honza, I had a hard time finding it too because I was looking under “Zeppelin” and not Zepplin, how foolish of me.

Either way, this is the thread and some people have already mentioned some good ones. I will try to get some other people that I know know their Led to share their input.

Physical Graffiti made my top 10 favorite albums. II and IV stood side by side only a little lower in the top 20.

That said, much as I love those albums, I have plenty of problems with Led Zeppelin's consistency when it came to I, III and everything else they did. Damn good band though.

So I modified the poll to squeeze in all of Led Zeppelin’s albums. I also corrected the spelling issues that so many people had beef with—Bo peep. Anyways, now everyone has to re-vote so go for it.

I remember hearing just a bit of their album 'Presence' and thinking it was terrible. This was years ago.

What do other people think of their last two albums; "Presence" & "In Through The Out Door"?

Presence is one of two Zep albums I can listen to all the way through these days (The other being LZI), mainly because it has escaped heavy "Classic Rock" radio rotation. It's worth the price of admission for "Achille's Last Stand." ITTOD on the other hand, is the LZ album that sounds the most dated to me.

I agree with you about “Achilles’ Stand,” it is definitely one epic song. I think that the rest of the album doesn’t really hold up to their best ones. It has a few good songs but the rest are just clunkers.

"Nobody's Fault But Mine" is pretty cool, even if it is a cover.

In Through The Out Door has some pretty good tracks, including "In The Evening" and "South Bound Saurez".

I always referred to it as The Old Man With Sticks Album, since there was much debate whether the actual title was Led Zeppelin IV, Zoso, or some unpronounceable title that was just made up of those four damn symbols.

I believe Page has referred to it as Led Zeppelin IV. That's what Wikipedia says, anyway.

You mean "the one with 'Stairway' on it"?
