Most big rock-bands has been playin for atleast 15+ years or are not even active today, like Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Sabbath, AC/DC etc..

But are there any "new" bands that top these rock giants?

IMO, there are a few. I cant remember them all right now, but here are some of them:

Dirty Rig
Cactus
The Hives
Tokyo Dragons

Any thoughts?

You're probably not gonna get a lot of people agreeing with you on that. The only band I've heard from those is The Hives, and I'd have to disagree. Secondly, saying "Does new rockbands..." instead of the correct way, "Do new rock bands...," didn't help you much.

Ok fair question, I say AudioSlave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tragically Hip, Queens, NIN rock on par with historical greats...
