Do you guys agree or no? If not, who do you think deserves the title "Best 80's Band?"
I love Duran Duran. I love their creativity in the music and their music video. They were so iconic... I'm so excited about the new DVD they will be releasing on November 4th. If you guys haven't heard yet, they will be releasing a DVD from Eagle Rock Entertainment's classic album series. So the DVD will showcase the band's album "Rio" and the making of it. Can't wait! Here's a clip on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nA7cAT5Qbw
Duran Duran is a good band. Rio is a seriously killer album. But, there's no way they're they're a better band than the bands that have been mentioned (or the Replacements, who haven't been).

I'm here to mention the 'Mats. They remain the greatest of the '80's next to R.E.M.

R.E.M. would be my choice for overall best '80s band.. Followed closely by several Paisley Underground bands, particularly Green On Red and the Dream Syndicate.

i don't think you can pick the 'best 80s band.' i mean, i love Duran Duran, but like everyone is saying, you definitely have to consider The Cure, New Order, The Pixies, etc. Duran Duran were hugely successful and they're fun but i don't know if they are the best 80's band by any means.
