Where did you hear that rock was dead? I hadn't heard any such news.

Rock is not dead. The Subways are pretty darn good from what I've heard so far. Rock & Roll Queen in particular is one I like a lot. Still debating on whether or not I'm going to check them out live when they roll through town at the end of March...

I'm with P-Bo. Reports of rock's passing have been greatly exaggerated...

The Subways are OK. I like a few tracks a lot ("Rock and Roll Queen", as Smenkharon says, is great) but I'm not sure they're any more the saviors of rock and roll than, say, Supergrass, but they're pretty good.

I think The Subways are fine, but they're no more the saviors of rock than the Strokes were five years ago.

My review of their album

I guess I could see where someone whose screen name is a tribute to Angus would be of the notion that rock is dead. The mid/late 90s were not so good for rock, but all is well this decade. And if we must thank someone for that, it is most assuredly not the Strokes or the Subways.
