I will admit rock right now is pretty lame but if your into 70's and 80's rock you have to give Tool a try. They are arguably the most talented musicians in a band all time. More talented (musician wise) than the almighty Led Zeppelin. They are definitely not for people who like weak rock.

Ok, with a name like MJK you're obviously a fan of Tool. So am I. They're easily in my top 5.

However, I don't think they make the top 10 of talented ensembles ever put together. Here's a decent top 10. Tool can arguably make the top 25, though.

1. The Mahavishnu Orchestra - John McLaughlin, Rick Laird, Billy Cobham, Jan Hammer, Jerry Goodman
2. Dixie Dregs - Steve Morse, Allen Sloan, T Lavitz, Dave LaRue, Rod Morgenstein
3. Steve Vai 2001 - Steve Vai, Tony MacAlpine, Virgil Donati, Dave Weiner, Billy Sheehan
4. Niacin – John Novello, Billy Sheehan, Dennis Chambers
5. Return to Forever – Chick Corea, Al DiMeola, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White
6. HLS – Shawn Lane, Jonas Hellborg, Jeff Sipe
7. Liquid Tension Experiment - John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, Tony Levin, Mike Portnoy
8. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones – Bèla Fleck, Victor Wooten, Howard Levy, Roy Wooten
9. The Steve Morse Band - Steve Morse, Dave LaRue, Van Romaine
10. Dream Theater - John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung, Mike Portnoy

You're right. I guess I meant to say as "popular" artists go they are the most telented.
