I can't say I'm I Know too many rock bands with a female lead singer, but I'm sure everyone has heard of evanescence. Amy Lee has a killer voice and the songs are intense and powerful. I know people condemn them as nu metal but I just dont see it. Theres something else. And in reference to the linkin park comparisons, I say, shut thef**c up. Linkin Park are the primary criteria of nu metal. Anyway, standout songs for evanescence. Whisper, Imaginary, Going Under, Sweet Sacrifice, Lacrymosa.
Anyway, another of my favs is Lacuna Coil. While Christina Scabbias voice is more stilted and distorted naturally than Amys, the songs she writes are excellent and suit her perfectly. Standout songs. Swamped, Enjoy the Silence, Within Me.
I've heard bits and pieces from nightwish and Within Temptation but found them to be a bit too samey. Maybe someone can prove me wrong.

None of these bands are anything like Evanescence or Lacuna Coil. I don't claim to know anything about either band because neither one appeals to me in the slightest. These bands are more suited to my tastes.

I don't particularly like Evanescence, but I agree Amy Lee has a good voice. As far as bands go, most of the ones I can think of that I like are a little older. These include Heart, Jefferson Airplane, and Fleetwood Mac. Some newer bands would include Metric, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and The Sounds.

I realize that two of these three don't entirely fit the definition, but as far as the vocals are concerned, they're mostly identified as female fronted.

Garbage! - Dont forget about them! Shirly Manson is so amazing.
I would also check out The Divine Madness. Their singer is freaking hot as hell and the music is really dark and sexy - just the way I like it. A band to watch out for.
Chrissy Hind of the Pretenders Grace Slick of The Jefferson Airplane Linda Tillery of The Loading Zone Lydia Pense of Cold Blood Wilson sisters of Heart
I saw the Pretenders open for the Who. They were... okay.
One really good, if small-time, girl-fronted rock band is The Duke Spirit. They're from England and they rock out. I'm trying to search out their album "Cuts Across the Land"...
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.
