I love her music and there hasn't been a thread about her yet so here we go...

So, I got a pre-release of Twelve a while back and must say it's good, but I don't know if it deserves all the rave reviews I've read. I'm normally sceptical of covers albums but I had expected more of this one, it being Patti Smith and all. Wondering if anyone else has heard it yet and what they think.

My favourite track is 'Helpless'.

Haven't heard 'Twelve', but Smith will always be special to me, not least for a live gig she did in Australia a few years back.

She did a version of 'Rock 'n' Roll Nigger' which was so intense, so extraordinary that when the band ratcheted up the tension, I felt lifted out of my body, humming in some ethereal plane (and I am in no way spiritual), and to this day remains the most singular experience I have ever experienced at a live gig!
