My Kinks collection consists of only LPs, most of these being the older stuff and a couple comps, neither which I care a whole lot for, though the best being Come Dancing With the Kinks (The Best of the Kinks 1977-1986).

As I searched through AMG and amazon, I found either specific era comps that would omit an important song ("Lola" and "You Really Got Me" seemed to be missing the most), comps with no track listing or they're long out of print. More collections seemed to include a lot of the early '60s stuff while skimping on late '60s and early '70s. The best late era comp, well, back to The Come Dancing set again- is it the only late era best-of? Is there no comprehensive Kinks box set yet?!?!

What I'm looking for are the best of the best Kinks comps. Little to no b-sides, rare tracks and live songs. I want the comps to cover the band's entire history, to include all the hits (in their original form, no remixes, no live stuff), plus the best and more well known album tracks.

Any help is appreciated in advance.

go to www.ixquick.com
this is a massive search engine. type in a search for kinks compilation sets and you will get several pages of hits. Problem is there does not seem to be a good remastered and complete set available.

True, very true. However, I did pick up cheap through amazon marketplace, Ultimate Collection, a 2-disc import collection with a nice set of songs throughout the years:

CD 1:

You Really Got Me
All Day & All of the Night
Tired of Waiting for You
Everybody's Gonna Be Happy
Set Me Free
See My Friends
Till the End of the Day
Dedicated Follower of Fashion
Sunny Afternoon
Dead End Street
Waterloo Sunset
Death of a Clown
Autumn Almanac
Susannah's Still Alive
Wonderboy
Days
Plastic Man
Victoria
Lola
Apeman
Supersonic Rocket Ship
Better Ship
Come Dancing
Don't Forget to Dance

CD 2:

David Watts
Stop Your Sobbing
Dandy
Mr. Pleasant
I Gotta Move
Who'll Be the Next in Line
I Need You
Where Have All the Good Times Gone
Sittin' on My Sofa
Well Respected Man
I'm Not Like Everybody Else
Love Me Till the Sun Shines
She's Got Everything
Starstruck
Shangri-La
God's Children
Celluloid Heroes
(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman
Do It Again
Living on a Thin Line

Not placed in chronological order but that's okay. Don't see anything yet missing that I
really wanted.
