So what do we think of the album? Is it as good as Don't Believe the Truth?
I will be listening to it soon but wanted to hear some opinions here first..

if you are an Oasis fan i think you are gonna love/like it a lot.
if you are not an Oasis fan and listen to the music without prejudice then you are gonna admire them cause after all these years they still have the charisma to write some really good and memorable tunes.
i reccomend you to hear:
"I'm Outta Time" even if it sounds (surprise!) like a Lennon/harrison track is such a beautiful ballad that it's impossible , imo,to resist.
"Falling Down" is up with Noel's best material with its modern direction , beautiful melody and excellent production.
"Waiting for the Rapture" sounds like a cross between Spoon (i turn my camera on!)and white stripes (the intro riff).
"The Shock Of The Lightning" sounds like a lost oasis classic from 1994-1995 era.

i dont know yet if its better than "Dont Believe The Truth" lp, but i can sayfor sure that it's a good (enough) and honest record.
the biggest problem for that album seems to me the oasis logo on its sleeve (for the haters)...

Their worst album.

'High Horse', "To Be Where There's Life", "The Nature of Reality", and "Soldier On" are the most doldrum, unlistenable songs Oasis have ever put down, 'High Horse' being Noel's worst song ever. The first half is great and "Falling Down" is superb, but the rest is regretfully dreadful. Noel has to get back to being his old hard-headed self and not let Gem and Andy write. Ever.

I agree that Falling Down is incredible.
Shame you didn't like it though, understandably it's not all that original/inspired, but still awesome music IMO. Could be slightly better than the 2005 album.
