Anyone catch that VH1 show "Supergroup"? They get Ted Nugent, Sebastian Bach, Jason Bonham, and some other guy (excuse my ignorance) to be in a band together. Bad ideas they had: God War Savage Beast What they settled on (the worst offender): DAMNOCRACY. To paraphrase Larry the Cable Guy, I don't care who ya are, that's terrible right there.

Damnocracy is pretty bad, but I'm not sure it's worse than Godwar. Either way, you'd think five (I'm assuming they're pretty creative) guys could come up with something better.
The fifth guy is Evan Seinfeld from Biohazard, who also doubles as porn-star Tera Patrick's husband and pimp.

"Clap Your Hands Say Yeah," that name prevented me from buying their great album for months because I thought that it would be similar to another horribly named group, "the Go! Team." however, both bands I am into now.
Also, bands that repeat a word of phrase in their name: "Man Man" and "Chin Up Chin Up" come to mind.
Both are good bands though, and I'm thinking of other bands that I love also have terrible names, such as Wolf Parade, and The Arcade Fire.
Moral: don't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge a band by it's name.
It's funny I was thinking Godspeed You! Black Emporer was one of the worst names. I'll say Destroyer and Death Cab just because I expected hard rock from the name. Ester Drang because I can't remember that. Spank Rock because, while it doesn't focus a lot on the gluttimus maximus, there is no rock. Centro-Matic? WTF. Girl Talk made me wanna run away from the Album fast. And finally, FINAL FANTASY. I don't want to think about a dumb videogame that has nothing to do with this guy's musical prowess. It's really annoying.
