LinnTate, this scenario keeps repeating itself, and I'm starting to have a hard time with it. Well, half of the Beatles and half of the Ramones are gone, so it's a fact of life, or should I say death. I bought and appreciated "Blank Generation" when it came out, so that was my first exposure to Quine's style, but what really caught my attention was what he and Richard Lloyd were doing on Matthew Sweet's albums which made all of them a notch above the rest of power pop. I was also into Lloyd Cole so after the Commotions ceased to be "associated" with him, there was Quine again lending his unique presence to the proceedings. I agree, R.I.P. Let's just hope we get a break for awhile.
