Indeed a great song. However the name of the band is Dexy's Midnight Runners.

"One hit wonder" is such a misleading term. Many of the best known OHW's have deeper catalogs than people know, but American radio only gave them one hit. Dexy's is a great example: they have 2 solid records and had hits with several other tracks in the UK, but American radio only gave them one shot.

Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" is not even the best Soft Cell song: "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" is a great track.

This is funny. What about Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf"? Their "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go?" has passed into the realm of legend though.

How about "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger. That's a great song, and from a pretty good album.

You've gotta feel a little bad catagorizing Harvey as a one hit wonder though. Big time label problems and a long hiatus definitely took a lot of momentum out of their careers. I've read some decent things about their last album though, but I still haven't heard it.

"You Get What You Give" from the band New Radicals! This song is great, the whole album too.

I've been obsessing over this song on the alternative forum and its called "battle flags" by the lo fidelity allstars. I'm not sure if it even qualifies since it was never a hit. It was on rock radio for like a week or something.

one hit wonder is not a rate of skill or importance i know this because people consider JIMI a one hit wonder.

I'm not sure if this would be considered a One-Hit Wonder but Big Country- In a Big Country is a damn good one if it counts.

The Stories had a couple very minor hits ("Mammy Blue" comes to mind) and one huge hit, the interacial love song "Brother Louie". I heard a reggae version of it recently but good as the cover was, nothing beats the original, it's still a powerful pop song even now. I think I've sung this in my car, though you wouldn't want to hear that.
