Not sure what genre this should go under, but I figured "Rock" would work as well as anything else.

Opinions? Like/dislike? How do you compare it to previous albums?

I'm enjoying it quite a lot, but then again I could probably tolerate a recording of her singing the phone book. After waiting six years for some new material, anything would have been welcomed so I'm not a fair judge of the new songs.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, and Im not that biased at all...especially towards Fiona.

Most of her old stuff I thought was good, some of it even great...but I also think their is quite a bit of it that sounded a lot alike...

Extraordinary Machine is in its own world as far as Fiona's work goes. Ive only listened to it a few times so far, but its definitely her best work, in my opinion that is...

It's okay. Personally, I thought "When the Pawn.." had a stronger set of songs. For an album that was 6 years in the making, I guess I expected more.

At first I didn't really like Extraordinary Machine.

I guess after such a long time in between albums expectations were just too high, and I probably wasn't really sure what to expect.

But after repeated listens and giving the album a chance, I really love it.

Is it as good as "When the pawn..."? potentially. I suppose they are both on the same level, however quite different albums. I don't bother to compare to her first album, as I don't think much of the first one (save a few great songs)
