No I was not talking about drugs I like to listen to Pink Floyd maybe after a long day at work chilling out, sometimes maybe even when I wake up as well. Ainhoa

Pink Floyd were my earliest favourite band. I prefer the early pre-Dark Side of the Moon albums but there isn't a dud till Final Cut.
My favourites are Meddle, Atom Heart Mother, Animals, Ummagumma, Saucerful of Secrets, Obscured by Clouds (way underrated) and More.
Echoes is a trip, Dogs is great too and Careful with that Axe, Eugene is perfect for Halloween, replete with the scream. The gems include the shorter songs Embryo (check out the BBC archive '67-'69 bootleg version...shame it was released only in the Works compilation and that too an inferior version), Summer '68, Let there be more light, Matilda Mother, Jugband Blues, Paintbox, See Emily Play, Welcome to the Machine, One of my turns etc. etc.
One of rock's most important bands.

Pink Floyd is one of those bands I used to love, but as I listen to more and more old/new music, I listen to them less and less. I don't know why that is, maybe because the songwriting isn't as strong? I still like Dark Side of the Moon and can listen to The Wall every once and a while, but other than that I find them fairly tedious.

I listened to some Pink Floyd-some weird sh*t. I don't know which album it was but there was nothing but animal sounds on it but the songs where there were actual voices n them were very good.

I kind of like The Wall for its sprawling (and sometimes aimless) ambition. Wasn't Dark Side of the Moon always famous for its techincal innovations? I'm not really sure. Pipers at the Gates of Dawn has always struck me as pretty much acid-trip music, and Wish You Were Here only has 5 tracks, which I find quite pretentious in itself. I also have The Final Cut, which is inconsistent but has some decent songs.

That's a really good way of putting it. I know I've been pulled in by that one before.

I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning "Wish You Were Here". I think the title track and "Have a Cigar" are two of their best songs.

I’m a huge Floyd fan. Although I seem to be a bit of a minority in that I’m not too fond of Animals. It lacks a lot of the atmosphere and emotion of there other albums. I was kind of over it after a few listens.
As for my favorite song: Echoes

Honestly, they are the first band i ever loved, and there's good reason for that. They're incredible. My Favourite song is definitely "Dogs" off of Animals. It is pure bliss: groovin', rockin', and mind-numbin' in a solid solid 17 minutes. Whoo! My favourite album i suppose is Dark Side of the Moon, but.... i've heard it way too many times... Including synched up to the Wizard of Oz. On that topic i say that it is simply a coincidence, but: the combination of a great movie and an incredible album is an experience that shan't be missed...

I'm the exact opposite, meaning the only Pink Floyd album I disliked was the Piper one. As for my favorite Floyd song, I feel it's too tough to differentiate the individual songs, especially since this band was one of the most "album focused" of any band in memory. Most of their albums were heavily thematic. Maybe "Time" or "Wish you were here" would be my favs.

'Wish You Were Here' is definitely their finest moment, their most directly emotional, least detatched record. Their other work, while often technically brilliant, seem to just be excercises in musicianship. I've always felt their greatest works came from a more visceral, heartfelt place. 'Comfortably Numb' is another one but 'Wish You Were Here' is just heartbreakingly lovely, almost countrified balladry of the highest order whilst still retaining that sense of aloof musicianship their other records have in spades.

my all time favorite pink floyd songs are "money" and "comfortably numb". money is 2 mins of vocals and 3 mins of full on psycedelic jamming! Comfotably Numb has one of the greatest guitar solos EVER!!
