I haven't thought of that cd in a while. I think I will have to listen again. I am just saying that it was a great cd. What are everyone else's opinion of The D

Well, I'm glad someone started a thread for Tenacious D.

I have to say that the only song of theirs that I really like is the famous "Tribute" although "Wonderboy" is pretty good. It's interesting cuz they are kind of Comedy music, but then again they aren't strait out comedy like Weird Al or something. Some of their music is actually well perforemed and good to listen too.

Long live The D!! Best. Comedy. Group. Ever! Better than Liam Lynch and Wierd Al combined. What makes them so wonderful is the fact that not only are their lyrics funny as hell they are great songs that one can listen to repeatedly and not get tired of. Props to JB and KG for providing tons of laughter and musical enjoyment!

I found something funny about "The D" they have their own version of the Ten Commandments. Here goes:

1. Never stop Rocking.
2. Legalize all drugs.
3. Quit your day job.
4. All Religion should be taxed.
5. Cut down on carbohydrates.
6. F*** her gently.
7. Never believe what people tell you after a show.
8. Always take a spoon full of Metamucil after a heavy day of eating.
9. Get at least 9 hours of sleep a day.
10. Eatin' ain't cheatin'.

Thought that might give you all a laugh.

Okay, since this section has been dormant for a while, I don't think that anybody will mind this shameless plug for this thread. Do you really think that "The D" are Satanic or is it just an act. I can't really tell because JB is an actor, so how would you know? But some of their songs are pretty crazy, like "Explosivo," although very good, very strange.

I think that the D is just one big satire on the usual hard rockers. So satanically speaking (ha-ha) I'd guess its a big joke as well. I'm not too sure that they are christians, they seem like the type that dont have a religion since they so easily bash it with their music, but i dont think they are honestly demonic. Its a joke..a really funny one too.

I'm all about their commandments. I once wrote an essay on how they're the saviors of rock while on a Lester Bangs binge...sad. But they do exibit all the traits of a true rock 'n' roll band in the best sense of the phrase. Right up there with Frank Zappa as one of the funniest but best acts in music.
