If you haven't heard it check it out, fairly experimental for hip hop but beans has a really original sound and a great voice.
old school.
I think i mentioned that a few months back when it was released.Maybe in a different spot but none theless. His first album and short ep in between the 2 releases where much better. If any group i could pick to get back together it would easily be APC.I have liked all the side projects from all the members though.

Imprezu discussed Beans in General Music, Recent CD Purchases, Page 6, October 31 (Halloween), 5:46 P.M. I'm too blind right now to make a link, but it's easy enough to navigate there.

Not before anybody in the world. But i was listening to that album before anybody in canada that i know knew what was going on.
the bottom line is when a band blows up, if i haven't already found them i usually get sick of the music from mass overplay and end up never buying it.
so in other words, i likely never buy the kanye album if i didn't get it right away.
all im saying is there is no point whatsoever scoping threads to be like "yo i said this first" pat me on the back.
october 31? that is over 2 months before i ever knew this site existed man. that is just a feel better about yourself thing to do.
and thats cool man, like i said if that's your gig.
wicked.

Wow man.... i just read my own post figuring i don't remember saying what this pompous dude said i said about kanye. so i access the thread, and turns out you drop the almost from my statement. so now instead of hearing kanye before almost anybody (which is absolutely true) you have my saying i was the first person listening to him.
people with strong arguments.... usually don't skew the facts.

I've had enough of seeing everybody wash their dirty underwear in public. Either take it to Private Messages or let it alone already! Discuss something relevant please and not personalities, and that means EVERYBODY.

At the risk of fanning the ashes, I should point out to TwoWayMonologues that Imprezu21 has never been trying to "outhip" or "outscoop" anyone on the Forums for the whole of the time he's been around. He and I don't often share the same taste in music, but I'm always interested in what he has to say, and he's never expressed anything more than a desire to share good music with other like-minded people. He certainly didn't seem to be out to discredit you...but he was correcting your errant statement. You don't want the facts skewed, as you say, and he was correcting your error.
Lest you think I'm piling on you here, TWM, I should point out that I liked your Top 20 of 2004 and I've bookmarked your site. I didn't think your post about your site was egregious, although LT is correct in his point that there might be a better way to engender less hostility from the regulars here. Several other people who post here have links to their own websites and haven't raised hackles...but they also didn't devote a whole Topic to them, either.
Oh, and by the way: the best rap album of 2004 was William Shatner's Has-Been. 'Nuff said. Argument over.

I was kidding, but it raises the question of what defines "rap"...
I'm not a fan of the genre, but I've always thought it had to do with the way the vocals were delivered (in a non-sung style) rather than the kind of music backing the vox. I'm probably VERY wrong on that. But that means spoken word backed with music could be, at least nominally, considered rap-like.
On the other topic, don't feel like you can't start topics and speak your mind here, TWM. But don't be offended, if you start a topic in one place and it fits better in another, to move it. And if you've germane links to things you've reviewed elsewhere, post 'em. I think the reaction to your blog "advertisement" comes from this board being flooded, recently, with a bunch of record label shills spamming us without even the courtesy of a non-spam post. It seems clear to me that you're not a spammer, but someone who enjoys and likes to talk music. But when one of your first post is a plug for your site, you can see why people got a little defensive.
