alright...let me save anyone who reads this post the time...

Do not buy the new Viktor Vaughn album.

It is a waste of time.

It is 12 tracks and 33 minutes??

There are 2-3 tracks worth listening to...but it does not do anything different than vaudeville villain...wich happend to be my favorite mf doom release ever!

Anyways...I would wait and download it...or copy it from a friend.Unless you alreadymade my mistake!

Take Care!

i voted for madvillain, but i still think that of doom's latest releases, vaudeville villain is the best.

He helped out dizzee on the roduction side of boy in da corner.I am thinking that this could be a good album...some reviews have said it is comparable to dizzees sound. If anyone has it or has listened to it??

Also...that new vik vaughn slabum is better than i said. The collaboraton with kool keit is crazy good.
II still would like to hear alot more doom on it though.c+

Alright...has anyone heard

Maker-Honestly on birthwrite records.

This album is crazy...it reminds me of the first time i heard "entroducing".I was floored last tnight when i finally got it in the mail and listened to it.WOW.This goes to the top of my list...it is half instrumental and half with rappers.

I know it came out in 2003 but i had no idea it existed until a month ago or so.

Anyone who has not found this record vcan get it from here

It is highly reccomended for anyone who is an indie hip-hop fan and loves to be surprised. In credible incredible album.

Easily close to a 10.

Every track has its place and it works so well cohesively.

I cant hold back my excitement...I also picked up his collaboration with qwel ongalapagos4

I guess this record label is kindof up and coming...there is a few good artists worth checking out.

I am going to keep my eye on these guys.

Please post if u have this album or if u have it and dont like it for some reason?

Ciao

That's some pretty high praise, Imprezu. I'm still listening to the Merck stuff you put over on the Electronic forum, but I'll be sure to put this on the queue too.

Best wishes,
~V

I'm listening to the Maker album right now- shit yeah, this is good.

EDIT: Wow wow wow. I don't even like the guest rappers much- there are two tracks on which the rapping is good, and on the other ones it's pretty "meh," but the production is unbelievable. I'm going to listen to this again as soon as it ends.

i voted for kanye, maybe not technically the "best" album from all technical aspects, but definitely imho the most "important" album of the year.

ps. i think it's kinda funny that dizzee's record is on there when it was on last year's list, and considering his new one just came out yesterday

Kanyes album is not that good...and it is far less "important".I hear that arguement too much.It always is the case that someone has to bridge the gap between indie and mainstream.I hope that is what you are meaning...because there is far more albums thatare important for their content and lyrics than college dropout.

So...I am assuming that it is the bridge between mainstream/indie that u are speaking of...i really like having a different sound.I really dont think kanyes album will change anything...i mean...its like saying that just blaze's production is so great or important.I really cant tell the difference between the two. But, rocafella has stated that they have many ghost producers that make alot of the tracks.Maybe thats why all their stuff is going downhill?

Imprezu21, you put was I was thinking into a much better context. I don't think College Dropout was important in the sense that it was just a pure classic that will change music, rather like you said it was important in that there was a cross-over from indie to mainstream, which hopefully will prove to the record companies that rap not constantly talking about killing and bling is a viable option in the market-place and maybe, just maybe we will see more of those types of artists pushed to the forefront, most of whom put Kanye to shame.

cLOUDDEAD's Ten album is by far the best album of 2004, it brakes every boundry known to man, and a lot that aren't.

There first album is much better...i think they went for alot more of a listener friendly album this time.Dont get me wrong its good...but I think their self titled first album broke down alot more borders and challenged fans to think of just good music and not worry about what genre it is in.I have friends that have listening tendancies that run the gammet from country to anything electronic. And everyone i force this album onto ends up liking it alot.

Too bad Lil Kim's "La Bella Mafia" was last year, that goes down as my favorite rap album of the past few years.

This year I'd say Shawnna's "Worth Tha Wait" and "Jackie O"'s debut album are the best so far.

Of course OutKast goes without saying as well.

Any thought about the new mf Doom album MM...Food?

Some views or thoughts?

I think it is borderline terrible and extremely dissapointing.Maybe just because his last three albums will become soon to be classics.

Just Curious to see what anyone esle thought.

Just to elaborate also...over half of the beats onthis one can be founf on his special herbs volumes?C'mon i have heard mostof these songs for awhile now.

is this a comp or a nr...i think a bit of both. But i would not give it above a C.Kind of dissapointing.

I have neglected to notice the quarelation between dooms pseudo names and the comic book.Vikto vaughn is Doctor Doom and such.

I just put two and two together...also most of his samples came from...oh i wont say it.I am sure everyone who is a fan knows.

Two of my top three rap/hip-hop albums of the year are already mentioned here. Kanye and Dizzee but one that isn't mentioned is Beans new album Shock City Maverick.

If you haven't heard it check it out, fairly experimental for hip hop but beans has a really original sound and a great voice.

old school.
