Three new Wilco tracks streaming here.

Sounds like they're moving further and further from the experimental YHF direction. One track has a groovy, Little Feat vibe to it. Others are extremely mellow. I can't say this really excites me about their new record.

BTW, I don't know where to put this post so feel free to move it. I figured a lot of folks around here would be interested so I put it where the most of us could find it.

You may want to control your anticipation. This stuff isn't that great.

Did you like all the Wilco albums since being there? You think the Wilco fans will be disappointed?

Yes, and I even like A.M. though not as much as their later stuff. I'm a pretty big Wilco fan, too. My favorite is probably Summerteeth, but YHF is just amazing as well. I think about half of A Ghost is Born is spectacular and the rest is pretty boring.

On these new tracks, "Walken" is a ridiculous groovy tune like Little Feat or Atlanta Rhythm Section. The other two tracks remind me of "Muzzle of Bees" which unfortunately is not a good thing for me. They're very mellow. Jeff Tweedy is into this 70's AM Gold phase now which I'm not much liking.

I listened to the entire album last night, and loved it. Jeff Tweedy can do no wrong.

Me too, except Tweedy seemed even more lowkey than normal.

It's not a breakthrough album or anything, but Sky Blue Sky is definately enjoyable.

Did Jim O'Rourke produce this? I can't find the producer anywhere online.

I don't know, but it didn't really sound like it.

I believe it's self-produced, and I agree: it isn't what I was expecting it to be. Still quite enjoyable, though.

Ok, so it seems that sky blue sky is a great album but definitely not the best Wilco record...mmm...that's ok with me! I don't mind if the songs are very mellow or very groovy, because some of my favorite wilco songs are mellow too (the lonely 1, how to fight loneliness, via chicago, poor places, reservations, hell is chrome , less than you think...) I just hope that it doesn't sound like "kingpin" kind of song.

I love all of the Wilco songs you listed as well. Mellow doesn't = bad. These are just mostly crappy like Muzzle of Bees. There's a particularly annoying song that Tweedy played at the live solo acoustic show I went to about "being patient with me." I remembered hating it that night, and then it showed up on this.

Another thing... there's no way Nels Cline is happy with this album. When Jeff Tweedy started playing him these songs, he had to be wondering wtf? I think Tweedy eventually starts hating anyone in his band, so he takes the music in a direction that will eventually run them off.

Hophead, I'm starting to wonder if you don't like this album.

Every site I visit shows that the Mp3s are expired. Does anyone have a new link for the new album? Or even just a couple of tracks?

On sunday Wilco had the entire album temporairly available to listen to on their website. It has some good songs but it all started to blend togeather after a while. It's deff not their best work though It might be an album that requires repeated listens to appreciate.
