What I'm trying to do now is write songs that aren't in the "verse, chorus, verse" format, so you know our stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Done. Finally, the first ambient/shoegaze Impostor (me...) record is out now on Archive.org. The album is called "Out" and was made in 2007 during boring, nostalgic, paisible, depressing, inspiring and contemplative moments. Just think The Field...without beats...and without vocals...and without mustache. I hope to see my rec in many year-end lists on MC, like top 5 or something Cool (eggs can also dream, you know...)

http://www.archive.org then "Out" in the search bar.

I've got a couple of relatively new tracks up, "Release" and "Boiling World".

"Release" was recorded with a four track and the on-board mic (couldn't find my Shure), so it's not the greatest quality, just a sketch of what the song will eventually be.

"Boiling World" was recorded at the home studio of the former director of product line (or something like that) for ProTools earlier this year with me playing melodica for my first recording. Fun instrument, basically a pneumatic keyboard. The pizzicato strings were done on a keyboard.

Link's in my signature.

I just made a myspace, and put a few songs on there, not much else. They need to be mixed a bit, but they are pretty much done.

Anybody who hasn't checked out this music is in for a treat. I have been privileged to discuss this with the composer/arranger/musician/vocalist and I think this needs a larger audience, so please, somebody, post an opinion about this. I mean, it's totally trippy and needs major headphones, it reminds me at times of the Feelies on luudes and God's own Buddy Rich. Everything on here is done by one person. So, please, say something, anything. I'm sure constructive criticism is welcome. My chief constructive criticism is we need some more songs, especially if anybody wants to put it in their top album of 2008 list. Cool

Only just now saw this. Same goes for the other posts in this thread. Will listen to it and comment sometime soon. This is just a thread that no one hardly ever reads. As much as I hate self-promotion, I'd be willing to consider putting this thread in the indie forum and stickying it. As long as we police it (and it should be fairly easy to do so), there shouldn't be any problems with people spamming it. We could even create some formal requirements for being eligible for posting your music there.
