I visited your myspace link in your signature and I really enjoy your music. "The master escaper failed" reminded me of Lustmord immediately with its creepy rumbling drone (minus the manipulated screams). Are you going to release a downloadable full length anytime soon?

Sorry, it took a while to answer! I don't check often this section of the forums. I think that i have enough "good" tracks to release a full lenght album, but i think i'll still wait. I want to see if i still like my tracks in the near future, and maybe i'll be able to make better tracks soon. There are 16 tracks that i consider good enough to be on the album. I want to make an album with a certain thematic, like i want that the auditor feels that we are, like, in 2500 and the end of the world is coming (very positive, i know). BTW, thanks for the kind words about "the master escaper failed"! i'll probably post 4 new songs before christmas. My personnal favorite tracks i made are still not on myspace, except for "Right city". Send comments if you want, Impostor is waiting.
This is not actually my band, but a friend of a friend is in it and it's pretty damned good stuff. Sort of like At the Drive-in, which is all right with me.
I am an Electronica/Dance/House Musician. Look up DJ NikDInDaPlaceTaBe on ReverbNation. My best songs I have posted are "Atomic Gangsters In The Night", "Egyptians On Crack", and "Word Was Born" was my first song.
I will post 4 new tracks on my myspace page. If you didn't check my tracks since a month or so click on the link of my signature before it's gone. The new tracks are still ambient/experimental stuff. enjoy....or hate it.
My new tape, Hyrule, is out now on Epicene_ESR. This is a link to my website/blog which will direct you to the site for purchase if you're interested. It is noise for those interested.... Millipede
And if you just want to hear some of my work there's always the Myspace page: listen
We spent a week recording 4 songs at Alphabet Studio in Fort Collins for an upcoming split release with the The Good Ole Fashioned Sinners . We got preliminary mixes last Saturday, going back to finish it this Saturday. There is a little clipping in a couple spots, but other than that I think we're mainly going to do some more volume adjusting. What else might you, the musically wise denizens of the metacritic board, recommend?
hey everyone, i thought i'd throw my hat in the ring. my band (Imperial China in Washington, DC) just recorded and self-released our debut EP. you can hear all the tracks at our myspace page. www.myspace.com/imperialchina. for anybody in the DC area, we have our cd release party on april 18th at rock and roll hotel.
(Those are both free and open source, by the way.)
For anyone who's interested, I've been semi-regularly releasing remixes and some original compositions over here. Worth checking out if you're into weird melodic electronic music.
There's also the Wakesleeping alias for new progressive breaks/trance type stuff.
So I spent my entire day holed up in my bedroom messing around with some new sounds and ended up with this.
I know it's very brief--I do plan on expanding it or integrating it within a larger multi-part structure--but feedback regarding any other aspect of it would be much appreciated.
I posted another new song on my Myspace page. I realize that my stuff isn't for most people (or possibly anyone) but if you have interest in repetitive ambient/drone type stuff, you might like it: www.myspace.com/lumpsumak
And I really like your song, JohnnyNotToScale.

I'm really enjoying your music as I'm writing this. The textures you've created are gorgeous, and you're very good at achieving a hypnotic effect without veering into tedium--which is something I rarely can say about any music of this type that wasn't produced by the artists you list as your influences.

Thanks, I really appreciate the compliments. If you have any more feedback, criticism, etc, let me know.
Do you have any other recordings I could check out?

No problem. I'm digging the newest one, "Underwater" the most...I love that Fennesz organic-feeling digital ethereality. I do appreciate the subtle unease that permeates some of the other tracks as well--you certainly have a really good feel for this type of thing.
I think it could be awesome if you attempted an extended length track...something to really get lost in for 20 mins or so.
I have some old recordings up here, I don't think any of it is really representative of where I'm at now in terms of style or skill but none of it's terrible either (at least in my own estimation.)
