Actually, battlefield 1942 was better with few bugs, little lag, and some other things i cant think of at the moment. Battlefield is reletively new however, once they add some patches and stuff, im sure ittle be the biggest hit since (insert super popular game here).
big fan on fps but getting anoyed at all the cookie cutter games coming out, point and click....nothing else. But these are my All time fav shooters. Blood 1and 2, hl1 and hl2, cs 1.6, dod1.3 (last ver i played since source) battlefield and call of duty for ps2
i'd have to say counter strike, i lost a large portion of my life glued to chair in front of a monitor, but it was worth it.
i was hoping that you guys could help me, I’m from California I’m currently conducting a survey I would like to know, which are the best places/stores around the world to purchase video games? Please specify region/country (PC or Console)? Thank you
In my opinion the best FPS's for PC are F.E.A.R and Doom 3 but only if you have really good sound. (games like BF2 and CS are good online games but that wasn't specified)
However, I might as well be married to voice support. No in-game voice support? Sorry, but I can't play you for long.
So Valve's games top my list. Half Life (1&2), Counter Strike (&Source), Day of Defeat (&Source), etc. Also almost all the mods for the Half Life and Source engines.
Voice support is a requirement for me to play a game longer than it takes to finish the single player campaign. I don't play multi-player games that have no voice support. I've considered getting an XBox (or 360), because of the mandatory voice support in their multiplayer. Probably not though... an FPS without a mouse is like a racecar with an automatic transmission.
I've probably sunk a good 3000+ hours into Counter Strike over the years, from beta through to Source.
But games without voice... I just can't really get into them. They feel... lonely. Cold and impersonal. What's the point of a team game where you can't talk to your teammates? Or a deathmatch game where you can't taunt your victim? Not for me.
