looking for the name of a game that i played about 12 years ago on the pc, then it was windows 95. it was based on a futuristic space atmosphere, inside ships and buildings in space. the main character wore a completely red jumpsuit he wore a red helmet and it was strategy based. you took out turrets and cameras and power supplies to open doors the camera view was third person over head at an angle. and thats all i can really remember

"Overhead, at an angle" I'm guessing you're speaking
of isometric graphics; a very popular style back in mid-90s era games.

Given the description, the rather unique character design, and the prominent elements of gameplay you remember, I would venture to guess you're thinking of one of the Crusader series. Link provided below for further review.

You may also be thinking of the game "Fade to Black"; but that's a shot in the dark--the main character doesn't wear all read nor a helmet.
