I made this thread simply because I believe that the game deserves its own, judging from the numerous "guild wars vs. WoW" threads in this forum which only wind up in a discussion about WoW itself anyway. So here is a separate thread where us WoW gamers can put in our thoughts about the game itself: from raiding, to gear and stats comparisons, talent spec discussions, class discussions, help with difficult quests, etc.

I know there's quite a few people who have contributed some substantive thoughts and ideas about the game itself (like GeneralZ among others), so I'm sure we can have quite a bit of material for discussion going.

I just hope that people don't turn this thread to another "guild wars vs. WoW" threads again, because we have like 10 of those already existing in the game forums. Please try to post there if your thoughts involve comparing the two games.

By the way, this thread will encompass all WoW releases, from the original up to the latest (currently Wrath of the Lich King), so feel free to discuss WoW classic if you feel the need to!

Thanks and happy posting.

heh thats what wowinsider or wow class forums are for. it does tend to get a little hardcore with people arguing over numerical methods of increasing damage. arguing over dots and spell rotations is boring lol.

Ya I agree... everytime I head over to the WoW class forums people are always at each other's throats, and I sometimes see charts of math equations and stuff...

That's prolly why it may be better to have a smaller community of gamers who are more laid back. Like, here Big Grin I think the numbers are just one facet of the game, and there are many other reasons I enjoy the game for (the graphics are not bad, the lore is pretty good, economy, etc)

Some third party websites I find to be quite helpful tho, like shadowpriest.com has a complete breakdown of best raiding gear available, what kind of glyphs to use, what are the best gems to go in what slots, etc. It makes gear checks/comparisons so much easier.
