I was reading an article in "fIlmaker" magazine in which they talked about a game entitled "211: Robbery in Progress". It's supposed to be the world's first "driving, action, platforming, safe cracking, strategy simulation". It's being done with the "Half Life 2" engine so the graphics will be orgasm-indusing. But, what really sets this game apart from all the OTHER "driving, action, platforming, safe cracking, strategy simulation" games out there is that it is being developed by people in the independent film industry. They showed their game at the last E3 and were picked up by a publisher in no time. Being in the film industry they are receiving top-notch voice, direction, CGI, and cinematography talent. They said that the experience of playing the game was much like a culmination of various virtual versions of popular heist flicks such as "Heist", The Italian Job", Ocean's Eleven", and "The Score". The prospect of having an independent game industry is as awe inspiring as it is horrifying. Remember the independent games published for the Atari (Kool-Aid Man, The Crest tooth paste game as well as others).
