I just cant understand why they would rush a game so valueble and precious. KOTOR 1 seemed so cool and a couldnt wait for number 2, but i was sadly dissapointed as the game was unplayed during times, and stories were rushed ... some even had an unknown ending ... I still wonder why Bioware didnt make the game. The game has a cool start but as you play it, it becomes worse and dissapionting. I can only hope KOTOR III will surprise us all.
from what i've read about it, lucasarts had been rushing a lot games up to kotor II, trying to make another hit like battlefront. they changed around the leadership recently and changed their mindset (hopefully) into churning out higher quality games. they've been awfully quiet for a while about star wars (though recently they've been hyping up star wars force unleashed, which looks pretty good) and KOTOR but i think they realize they made a huge mistake with the series in rushing it and that is vital for a company to admit their mistake (lots of people have that problem too!).
as for the future KOTOR III, definitely not going to be Bioware. they're trying their hand in their own universe in mass effect, which looks tremendous. i wouldn't mind if obsidian kept on doing the series. they made several improvements over the original and clearly had a lot of good ideas but most of these are ignored because of the lack of quality in the plot and the later fights.
