Who besides me is looking forward to Half-Life 2? It's been a long wait, but I'm contemplating getting myself a new rig to fully accommodate that bad boy. The sad thing is, I can start saving up now and will probably have enough by the time the damned game is released! (Yeah, they stole the code, blah blah..) I NEED to play this game.... My Painkiller demo isn't quite doing it for me about now....

Is HL2 ever going to be released? i have been waiting for ages. When the games was announced i was like "sick, this game will run sweet on my PC." When it is released my box will probably be crap and i will have 2 upgrade it soo much just to get no lag. Personally i have given up on HL2 and am waiting for GTA5 ;(

Yes, it's definitely coming out this fall... The theft of the code at Valve really set them back. I'm still pumped for it....

check out ebay for used Radeon 8500s - they've discontinued them because the 9000 is a few minor improvements and you could probably get one really cheap. they've got all the fancy hardware T&L shit you need and it'll take a lot of the load off your cpu / ram. I'm playing UT 2004 at near 60 fps with all details on... it's like getting a $300 card for around $100

Everyone's favorite Valve employee, Gabe Newell, today revealed the technical requirements for the upcoming Half-Life 2.

Ideally, one should have a 2.4 Ghz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and a DirectX 9 enabled graphics card to fully partake in the title. Those with less powerful components shouldn't worry about upgrading unless their system specs fall below a 1.2 Ghz processor, 256 MB of RAM, and a DirectX 7 compatible graphics card.

"Definitely"? All Ive heard is a very vague and by no means certain target date for the game to be handed over for publishing.

the games editor's specs reinforce my earlier post - a radeon 8500 should give you pretty much the whole experience even if you're running the lowest end specs. it also has double monitor support and an S-video out, pretty nice

Personally i think: the stuff which was leaked out was done on purpose because they knew they wouldnt complete it in time. how would this slow them down? ok it got leaked, but so what just finish the game.

I don't think the code was simply leaked. I think a decent portion of it was stolen, meaning they lost some of their original materials. I don't think at this point a company like this would go that far to create a bogus reason that dramatic for a delay which everyone has come to expect (at least for major releases) these days.

Have they ever heard of more than one copy or back-up? (ANYWAY) The stuff was 'stolen' from the server, but how could you just steal it, i thought you could only copy not cut from the server unless they had full control of the server!

Chances my PC will run it:

one in a million.

If my PC can't run World of Warcraft, then I know it's time to get a new graphics card.

You have to love the game.
It's the best there is well...it's a matter of opinion.
Peace out.
