Blizzard has just announced that a second expansion to WoW entitled Wrath of the Lich King is under development, although a release date unfortunately has not been revealed as yet. I am personally very excited and looking forward much to the new features:

- Level cap raised to 80
- A new continent: Northrend
- Siege Weapons
- New items, quests, creatures and dungeons
- New customizations and emotes for existing and new characters (I heard something goofy like being able to modify your existing toon's hairstyles and all that, as well as new emotes like new dance animations, etc.)

- A new profession! Inscription...which is basically like Enchanting but only that the Inscriber permanently modifies a character's spells and abilities (rather than enchant pieces of equipment)

- Unlockable Hero Class (This is the most intriguing part of the new expansion...)

They're also making improvements to the graphics engine of the game. It's all sounding pretty sweet to me

Well, it finally came out on Thursday! I went and picked up my collector's edition on release day itself. A lil pricey, but there were a lot of bonus items; it came with an in-game collector's ed pet and an art book among other things. I'm also liking the new continent, the overall general design looks and feels better than the previous expansion (The Burning Crusade). I have yet to unmap most of the new continent since I'm still in the starting zones (Borean Tundra), but I can fathom it will only get better as I get deeper into it.

Anyone else grabbed the xpansion? What are your thoughts on it?
