I can wait. I was hugely disappointed by the release of Crysis. I followed it throughout its development and was even a beta tester for its multiplayer. Graphics and destructible environments are great, but only if gameplay is not overlooked. In fact, why even bother having every object destructible if it doesn't effect how you play the game. Far Cry had a much better sense of scope and non-linearity than Crysis did, and its engine wasn't nearly as powerful.
Crysis disappointed me too. You had to go through a lot of lacklustre stuff to get to the blockbuster finale, but thankfully the ending WAS worth getting to.
As for the sequel, I've got one eye on it, but even with good reviews (which it'll inevitably get) I won't make the mistake of buying it full price this time.
What annoyed me most was how the opening few levels felt "open" and were subject to a bit of exploration. There was a level towards the end where you were forced to pilot an aircraft in a very linear fashion. None of the other levels had you flying and it seemed too much of a lackluster one-off. IMO
