Okay, my brother would like to relive his childhood with an old space game he used to play back in the early 90's. I grilled him for information for a while but I couldn't find it. Hoping someone here can at the least point me somewhere that might be the right direction.
Here is allllll the info he can remember:
He played it in the early 90's (at most 94).
It was a turn based strategy.
It was played on one computer.
It had space exploration and conquest.
The galaxy was 3D and could be rotated.
The players each had one spaceship throughout the game.
The players were in control of the spaceships during combat.
The combat was real time.
There were different types of resources you received from planets.
There may have been only one type of resource per planet (he is unsure on that one, but he is sure that there were variations in planets).
There was no fog of war.
Each player started with only one planet.
At least 2 players (possibly more).
You could only go from planet to planet (like in Masters of Orion).
You wouldn't know what kind of resources the planet had until you explored it.
It is possible that there were resources on the side of the screen for commands or for resource overview.
It would enter a new screen when combat began.
You would start at opposite sides of the screen in battles.
He thinks that MMO is a good comparison for the graphics except this game was simpler, there wasn't as much detail on the ships (more complex than a triangle though).
The colors of the start were coded to the controler (one color for each player, and a color for neutral stars).
He thinks that it wasn't a red, green, white layout that would change to reflect which player's turn it was.
He doesn't remember there being any background while rotating the galaxy.
He doesn't remember if there was a currency.
He was certain that the game was on a computer but he can't remember which platform.

And there you go

.
Any reply would be appreciated.
