Could anyone recommend a good RPG/action game like Sacred 2, Mass Effect? I am looking for some good ones from the past 2-3 years.

i thought sacred was hack&slash...anyway try the Gothic series (I,II,III) i liked them very much

Well, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was made by the same people as mass effect. May be a little older than the timeline you suggested but it's worth a shot.

You could check out Oblivion and Fallout 3 as well. On that note Morrowind and fallout 1 & 2 are some of the best games I've ever played.

Best RPGs of all time:
1) Final Fantasy VI
2) Chrono Trigger

Dragon Age. So it's not out yet, wait 18 days. Meanwhile you can play with the character creator.

A couple of suggestions:

1) Fate (infinitely replaying "Diablo" style game)
2) Risen (much slower paced than Diablo, but massive and more akin to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. There are multiple Chapters and I'm 18 hours in and only in Chapter 2)
3) Titan Quest (Think 3D Diablo)

Fallout 3 is amazing! Try it out.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. You can't go wrong with it if you love RPGs, and the demo's 6hrs long if you want to try before you buy.

I also liked Fable 2, it's a magical fantasy adventure. Just don't expect to be challenged by it.
