With the new season about to star, I thought it’d be great to start up a competition, much like the one we set up for college football. Anyone is free to come on here and make your weekly picks, someone can keep track of them and at the end of the year we will have an NFL champion. Hopefully enough people want to do it, I think we have four of us for college football and we could use that many or more here.

There are some great games to start this week. Of course I want my Cowboys to handle the Giants at home and they should be able to. Well, if anyone is interested, you can make your picks here whenever you want, just as long as it is before Sunday’s games. Of course, you can always just come on here to talk about the season, games and NFL news as well.

Man, what a pasting Indy gave the Saints. I think the real story was the new and definitely improved Colts defense. They held Bush and the Deuce to, like, 75 combined yards. And last year the Colts couldn't have stopped the run if you had let them use a bulldozer. I also thought Brees looked rattled, something I never thought about him last year. I wouldn't have been surprised to see the Saints make a run for it this year, but after last nights' performance, I'm not so sure.

9-5 going into Monday night. Hmm. An OK start. Dallas took me be surprise. Also GB. Truthfully, I think the defensive TD that GB made should have been a penalty. Your man got clotheslined before he had the ball. Still, that game, the Denver game and the Skins/Dolphins games were real nail-biters. They could all three have gone either way.

I'm not optimistic about the Ravens' chances tonight. I thought they looked too disorganized in the pre-season. McNair remains inconsistent, and, if Ogden doesn't play, I worry about McNair getting hurt. I think they'll miss Adaliaus, although Suggs and Bart Scott are more than making up for an older, slower Ray Lewis. Still, I hope you're right, eric. I'll gladly go 10-6 if the Ravens win!

According to my office pool, I've only missed 3, so I guess that makes me 11-3 so far.

The Bears offense looked atrocious. Not just Rex either - everyone looked bad. 3/11 on 3rd down? 202 total yards? 3 points?!?

Next week, you should pick the Whale's Vagina to win.

I don't know, they're at New England, and I think those lobstermen know how to deal with maritime trim. Big Grin

The defense looked OK, however, and that against last years first ranked offense.
I don't think Grossman looked as bad as some of the Bears' receivers. He certainly didn't make some of his classic bonehead plays of last year.

I think the Chargers have a tough start, but I think they're a solid team. Chicago followed by the Pats! They better hope for an early bye.

I was sorry to see the Dolphins and Bills lose in the way they did. The Dolphins because they've been so pathetic, and their defense looked OK, against, admittedly, a pretty lame offense.

And no win, yesterday, was more undeserved, imo, than GB's! Favre looked all of his 56 years of age!

Well, if you want to be technical, you neglected to vote in the Tennessee game. If you actually had the Titans though, I'm fine giving you credit for the pick though. I'm 11-3 so far as well.

I was at the Redskins game. It wasn't terribly pretty. I guess a victory is a victory, but it sure didn't inspire too much confidence.

Dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit.

What the hell is wrong with the Ravens' offense. I had to turn the game off midway through the third quarter. I just couldn't watch anymore.
