By now most of you have heard the grim future of the forums. CNET might let us continue but just in case, are there any ideas for how the metacritic community can continue? I love this community, even though you guys do bicker a lot, I love reading all the great, insightful, humorous posts and the general taste in music. I'v learned about so many great albums and bands from the metacritic forums that I wouldn't have learned about otherwise. So, any forums that we could all transfer over to? Any ideas?

I think we're in the clear, for now anyways. But it may be a good idea to start a new forum just in case these forums just vanish without notice.

Stop bumping threads that are almost a year old.

We conveniently put dates on all the posts. You're welcome to resurrect old threads, but if you're trying to respond to a specific post that's over a year old, it's usually pretty futile. Many of the people that were posting a year ago aren't even here anymore.

having the year added to the day and month would help a lot. i've wondered many times when a thread was started by reading re-bumped topics

Maybe my settings are different, but this is what I'm seeing. I can see it on the opening post too. So... yeah.
