Question:
One of the more popular "under the radar" bills that routinely gets passed by Congress is the Omnibus spending bill. Congressmen do their very best to throw as much pork into a single bill as possible to please their own constituents while screwing the rest of the American people. (Yes, this may be a bit of an oversimplification, but it'll do for this purpose of this question.) This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. We're talking shameless acts by our politicians to keep their jobs. For a full list, of some recent pork, see here I want to know, of the following five, which you think is the most outrageous use of the average taxpayer's dollars.

Choices:
$5,000,000 - Kennedy Center Potomac River Pedestrian and Bike Path
$2,000,000 - "First Tee" golf program for kids in Florida
$6 million - Treasure Island Bridge outside Tampa, Florida
$1,800,000 - 2003 Women's World Cup Tournament
$270,000 - Potato Storage

I could never vote for potato storage...if we don't come up with places to store them, how could we continue to enjoy their tasty, tasty goodness???

I always loved the stories about the ridiculously expensive prices of toilet seats and other utilities in government buildings, but I can't vouch for their truth. But they were funny...

You ain't kidding. Here in PA, Sen. Arlen Specter is actually bragging about how much federal money he spends (all to bring jobs to his fellow Pennsylvanians, of course). It makes me sick.

And what makes it even worse is that I'm still going to end up voting for him, lest the Democrats gain control of the Senate. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be civic minded.

You didn't include President Bushes study on the power of prayer. If you had I would have voted for that.
