Now, if there's anyone in the world who knows their beer (trust me), it's me. But please do not be afraid to disagree with me here or anyplace else. As a matter of fact, I REALLY want you to disagree with me, not because I want to fight with you, but because I REALLY want to know what YOU think!
My favorite beer, after too many years to mention, is Oranjeboom, the best and most "cost-efficient" beer that Trader Joe's sells, although it's been difficult lately to get their best deals.

My nightly pint(s) after work are generally Guinness.
Right now, however, my favorite beer, the brew I will literally drive hours to have is the Lafayette Brewing Company's East Side Bitter in Lafayette, Indiana. Few microbreweries make a bitter, I love bitter, and fresh beer is the best beer, so it's hard to go wrong. Fortunately, my wife's folks teach at Purdue, so I have ample opportunties to sample it.
In all, though, it's any port in a storm for me with the exception of JW Dundees Honey Brown Lager. I won't touch the stuff. Pure swill. A friend left a six in our fridge once, which turned out to be the only six in the house. It was the only evening of my adult life that would have made the Women's Christan Temperance Union proud.

This is a funny topic ... probably my favorite beer is Blueberry Pale Ale from SLO Brew. I love Belgian beers and Delirium Tremens is probably my favorite of those.
For regular beers that you can order pretty much anywhere, I like Stella Artois, Newcastle and Anchor Steam.
That's actually quite a list of beers, because I very rarely drink beer. I'm a cocktail girl. But my dad's a beer guy, so I guess I have an appreciation nonetheless.
Despite coming close to permanently damaging my liver in my teenage years on them, Im not too big on beers any more but Ive never been a fan of German or Belgium beers (much to the disbelief of most of my mates) and American beers taste worse than urine (or how I imagine urine would taste).
So I tend to stick with the premium Aussie beers. Cascade Premium is a fantastic beer. Its smooth and perfectly carbonated, but it has a really refreshing bitter taste. Its like the best of cheap and expensive beers rolled into one. If Im not in the mood for a Cascade I go for Coopers Green.

Beer, for me, is like music. My taste changes with my mood. Generally, I drink Dos Equis (brown bottle, not green), a great, cheap German brewed Mexican beer.
Guinness is tops, but I don't like the cans and most pubs don't serve it well. A good pub (Dressel's, here in the STL) makes the Guinness.
I had some fantastic local brews while spending a week at an academic conference at the U of Oregon, in Eugene. My roomie and I drank WAAY too much of the local brew every night. But I can't recall the names of them now. A side-effect from the drinking, I guess.
When I'm REALLY on the cheap, or in a dive bar (Fred's Music Lounge, here in the STL), I'll go with Stag or Natural Light. Those are usually my outdoor concerts and float trip beers.
Our big local micro is Schlafly, which is OK. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either.

Leffe, a Belgian abbey beer(of which all are good!) is definately my favorite, as well I enjoy both the lager and amber versions of Dos Equis, also, La Fin Du Monde, Moosehead, and Stella Artois. I enjoy Guiness as well, but usually with Jagrmeister shots!

You should try those shots of Guiness and Jager with Bailey's Irish Cream. Save the Jager for Red Bull Jager bombes. I'm a big fan an ice cold Budweiser. Can't really beat that. I also like Abita Purple Haze and Blue Moon. If you have not trie it I highly recomend it. Abita is brewed in Louisiana and it is great.
Beamish. Now that's good stuff. We discovered it when our local liquor store was selling fours on special. Now, if only somebody locally had it on tap, that would be alright. A fine change of pace from Guinness is welcome now and again. The only place I've ever had it on tap was, if you can believe it, Wichita, Kansas.

Yummm, I'm a big fan of XX. However, stereotypical as it may be, I'm a college student and quantity outweights quality, so it's usually PBR or Natty Ice for me.
When I want to feel fancy, the Couer D'Alene brewery offers student discounts on kegs and they have a huckleberry ale that is quite good.

I'd have to say my favorite, right now, is Corona with a lime!! I haven't been drinking beer too long, cause I really didn't like it..but, like other things, I grew to like it..Corona was probably the first beer i liked, and after that I tried Labbat Blue..so, i'll drink that if there isn't anything else or if there is a shortage on $$..lol

Lately I have really gotten into Red Stripe, a Jamaican beer that is very thirst quenching, with a super smooth finish. I imagine it must be the perfect super-hot weather beer.

Well, the last time I responded to this question I went with Corona. I've evolved over the last few months and now favor the other "fashionable" import, Heineken. Also very smoooooth.

Corona goes down real well, and i've tried Guinness which is ok, and budweiser isn't too bad either. the best american brew ive had is miller. better than bud no question.
