Since we have threads for beer and whisky, let's do wine! I have been working for liquor stores for a bit now, and have been trying boatloads of wine in addition to my regular consumption. I am a big fan of local B.C. wines, and am typically a sucker for French and Italian reds and Germany when in the mood for a sweet white. Chile is also an excellent region, and although I find many Australian wines to be trendy and overrated, I have discovered some very nice ones recently. I'll come back and post some of my favourite wines and wineries later, that is, if anyone else has any comments on the subject...
"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas
Smenk- My wife and I tried one of the Quail's gate (i think that was the name) wines when we were in Vancouver for our honeymoon. It was excellent. Thanks for the recommendation.
I will confess that I only drink "cheap" wine. Has anybody here ever heard of a chain of grocery stores called Trader Joe's? They sell a wine affectionately called "Two-Buck-Chuck." The name on the bottle reads "Charles Shaw," and it sells for $1.99/bottle. And you get a discount if you buy it by the case. Believe it or not, it is damn good stuff!
