I would certainly hope so! Why would you want to listen to music you don't like?

Have I mentioned I have a Celine Dion mix-disc? Cool

Hello, my name is Alex, i'm 16 years old and i have been reading sci-fi books since i was a little girl.
Science fiction has always been one of my favourite subjects and i really hope that i'm going to have fun here.
I listen to rock music in general, i like to write short stories and poems, i am very weird ( i have strange ideeas, i dress funny), sarcasm is in my blood , i love Philip K. Dick's books and i would like to become a psychiatrist. I also listen to classical music. It's one of my favourite subjects. My favourite composer is Chopin. I write short science-fiction stories and i read too much.
About music? Well i have different music tastes. My first "crush" were The Beatles. Then it started with The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple. I also like the music that it's played today. Bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Jet Lag Gemini.
As you can see i am very chaotic and i tend to
mix everything.
P.S. you have to excuse my bad spelling Frowner

Welcome to the forums, Alex. If you're into sci-fi, perhaps you'd be interested in this thread. Also please do check out the other catagories as well (our music section gets the most traffic by far). Have fun!

It took me quite some time to get through all of your introductions. They were all a fascinating read, and I look forward to posting more soon...spring break coming up!

My name is sofia, and I came by my username from the Mel Gibson's Apocalypto. The protagonist's son is named Turtles Run and it just so happens that turtles are my favorite animals (I have 4 turtle pets) so it worked out excellently. A little background: I am 19 years old, born in Detroit, Michigan but have no ties to that city since my parents moved to Cali when I was 9 months old. I currently live with my parents in Long Beach, Ca (which has a fantastic music scene that I am only beginning to discover). I danced ballet from 3-16 (quit in high school), and was therefore raised listening to classical music, therefore my only real knowledge to that genre is in the ballets and sonatas. I am now attending UC Irvine (I would like to make a shout-out to markf at this point since he previously mentioned he is an alumnus of the university). I am a History major with a minor in Archaeology (it would have been the other way around but the durn school doesn't have Archaeology as a major, and my father won't let me go an inch further to another UC.)

I was introduced to metacritic.com by way of my writing class teacher, the assignment was to write a critique on a film and she suggested this site. I fell in love.

I love good movies, although I am not nearly as avid as some members, but hope to soon catch up!) So it became a daily visit for me, and then I found the discussion forums and for a while I mostly just read until I decided to join and have been poting pretty exclusively in the movie forum. I will try to branch out but my knowledge of music is embarrasingly little, and gaming was never a hobby of mine.

My favorite books thus far have to O! Pioneers and Candide. To ask me to choose a favorite song/album/artist is pretty much impossible since I am sure I have not heard enough good music, but not to worry, I am on my way. And my favorite film at the moment goes to Life as House.

Oh, and I'm a girl, in case you couldn't tell Wink

Anyway, that was my little introduction and thank you for such a great forum!

Then, we went to Egypt to live there for 3 years. Now, we are in Canada. We have been here since November of 2006. I love it here. Canada IS GREAT. Egypt is my home though. I plan to be between those two places. So...ya thats all I can think of now. This fourm seems really good.

Another Mike. This is going to get most complicated. We might have to do this thing inside the squared circle Royal Rumble style to decide which Mike gets to stay.

Whilst your proposal is good, I propose the following:

As we all know -
Mike Love < Michael Stipe < Mick Jagger

Therefore, we can saftely say Micks are better than Michaels and Michaels are better than Mikes. Meaning, I am king of their kind on Metacritic and as such shall decide their fates.

Well, I seem to have completely missed this thread so...

I'm _____ _____, a 20 year old male student from Ireland, and I listen to pretty much anything from any decade music wise.

I'm also learning electric bass, and doing history and politics in school. As such, my hobbies basically lie in music, reading and sports. I live a typically white middle class life, so I'm a manic depressive, hugely insecure and an all round bit of a dick.
