I'm happy to see the Yankees out for several reasons:
1. I'm tired of national media raves of how amazing the Yankees lineup was (NINE ALL-STARS!!! At least FIVE FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS!!!!NEVER BEFORE HAVE WE SEEN THIS LEVEL OF TALENT!!!) and bashing the Tigers for being unspectacular. Nice pick, Colin Cowherd.
2. I just hate the Yankees.
3. I would have HATED to see a NY/NY or NY/LA series.
However, the firing of Joe Torre (which seems imminent) just goes to show how deluded Yankee brass really is. They have an AWFUL pitching staff (not Joe's fault) but the manager takes the heat for the postseason failings. When the best you've got includes Jaret freakin' Wright in Game Four, you're screwed.
I think A Rod will take a lot of the heat (along with Torre) for this season's failings, unjustly. The rumors continue to fly about a deal to send A-Rod to Anaheim...
