Try torturing me if you like...I've been tortured and I didn't crack. I've sat through enough bad live college rock bands to kill a lesser man...[/QUOTE]
Have you tried sitting through a "Roseanne" marathon. We aren't messin' here.

The format of the forums isn't going to be all that different (if different at all)... The look of the entire site will be different, though not radically, the indexes will be easier to use, a books section will be added, DS & PSP sections will be added to the Games site, etc. We were shooting for Monday to launch things, but it's likely that we'll be launching the first week of January. No need to get medieval on anyone!

Oh, so the whole site will change as well, not just the forums? Books finally... excellent...

Quick update on the "new site": Because our complete staff is not in town (Santa Monica) this week, we'll likely unveil the new design (with books, all new critic top 10 list section for films, etc.) next week - the week of Jan 3. There's an element of error/load testing that requires at least 3 of us to be around at once, which is unfortunate. But we want to get it right the first time, so hang in there friends, and I hope you're all having great holidays, and have a safe and exciting new year's eve/day! Go Trojans! (Beat....the sooners....)

OK, OK, I can understand a little, but "Good Bye", that's something else again. But if I never, good bye, you wild and crazy guy who's less than a year younger than me!

You'd be referring to me. Storm_chasers enemy, for some reason. Actually I think it was a case of "two people, more like each other than they were willing to admit" therefor, he and I got off on a bad side, he felt targeted by me. I can't say I blame him, but I made multiple attempts to apologize (ditch the beef, bury the hatchet)
I don't think it was entirely you, N-Z. He was also pissed at me because of a conversation we had in the Books room. And you did offer what seemed like a sincere apology, so I think his decision was just based on the fact that he didn't like feeling like a target, even if the bad blood between you two had subsided.
In the rather public airing of our "dirty laundry", storm_chaser/burning_man also made reference to the fact that he felt the Moderators and Editors on these Forums were guilty of trying to force their beliefs on others through use of their ability to edit and move posts. I think it was a combination of things, but I wouldn't feel totally responsible if I were you.

The thing I like about Metacritic is the people. There is such a broad spectrum of all kinds of tastes & opinions. You have those that take every topic seriously, & you have others that approach each one with a wink & a smile. Whether it be here in the forums, in the chatroom, or even the "User Reviews", this really is the best site there is when you compare it to similar ones. There aren't as many fights or arguments taking over threads here as there are in other sites. Yes, I know there are a few 'round here where things kinda got outta hand, but none of it is as bad as all them. Not even close. The folk 'round here have much cooler heads. When things start to get outta hand, there is always someone who comes along & puts out the fire before it gets too big. And that's what I like about Metacritic !
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

*applause* And our next speaker is..? Oooh, by the way, check out 's first question: if metacritic would ever reach 1000 members. Ha! As it stands, we've got 6250, or something close to that.
