I think all of this weekend’s games will be highly contested, competitive games. I am kind of worried about the Jaguars-Steelers game. Though the Jags have become everyone’s darling and exciting pick, the Steelers should be much more ready in the playoffs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pittsburgh won the game. I think Washington will put up a great fight but Mike Holmgren will have his team ready and I also think that the Titans will give the Chargers a good game. I look for the Giants to come away with a huge a win, they played great last week and if they can do the same against the Bucs, they will win. Washington @ SeattleJacksonville @ Pittsburgh NY Giants @ Tampa Bay Tennessee @ San Diego

I have always been pretty good at picking teams though I am not sure if you are complimenting me or not. I did pick against the Patriots a good six or seven times (twice when they played Miami!) when everyone else picked the Patriots though. So maybe if I picked them as well my overall record would be something like 165-80 @ 67.35%, oh well.

Oh, well thanks. I really like the playoffs though; unlike bowl games (where it’s really hard to pick winners) the better teams usually win. Everyone and their mom were picking Tampa Bay and I didn’t really know why. The talk all season was that they were a very decent team, benefiting from a very easy schedule and great, steady coaching. The Giants really came to life against New England, they are a great road team and that pass rush is superb. Plus as you could tell on Sunday, Tampa can’t score. The Jaguars and Steelers game was a doozy though. Usually when everyone jumps on a bandwagon (the Jags’) and everyone did jump their bandwagon, that’s a bad sign. So I was a bit hesitant with that one and that’s why I stated that Pittsburgh would be ready and if they won, I wouldn’t have been surprised. This week’s games will be even better because all four games look like they will be heavily contested. I do see a couple of possible upsets but I will wait a while and study more before I make my picks.

If this does happen though, don't you think this would set up when of the best AFC/NFC Championships ever? I can't remember 2 that were better.
I really don’t think it will happen though, I see an upset happening in a couple of legit spots. Then again, I could be completely wrong. I don’t remember such great championships in both conferences either. I do remember those great 49ers-Cowboys championships that were considered the “real super bowl”s. Ha, but that was back when the NFC was the better conference—that seems like so long ago.

New England Dallas Indy Green Bay I don't see how anyone else is going to win, either, though I hate picking the same as anyone else.

It will certainly be another great weekend of football. The “elite eight” are truly the eight best teams left and their records are genuine indicators of that. It’s really hard to go against any of the favorites—even moreso when all the spreads are seven points or more—but it’s even harder to think that all the favorites will win. Was anyone impressed with San Diego’s win last week against Tennessee? I don’t care if Norv Turner feels vindicated, the Chargers are not as good as they were last year and the Colts will not lose against them. T.O. practiced today and he should be ready for Sunday’s game. I don’t buy into the whole “it’s too hard to beat a team three times in one season” theory because the better team should win each time. As for the other two games, I am not positive about them at all—even less than last week—but these are just gut calls. I mean, you have to wonder, “How can the Jags beat the Patriots in Foxboro when they had such a hard time last week at Pittsburgh?” And don’t you think that Belichick and the guys want to continue their “let’s kill everyone we play” philosophy? They would get an even greater kick out of creaming the Jaguars especially with Jacksonville being deemed “the team that can beat New England.” We’ll see. Good luck to everyone and here’s to another great season winding down. Seattle @ Green Bay Jacksonville @ New England San Diego @ IndianapolisNY Giants @ Dallas

I'm rooting for anyone but the Patriots. The only outcome I am certain of is that Dallas is going to lose to the Giants.

I saying New England and Green Bay in the big show, with New England winning by 14 points. Anyone want to predict the head coaching jobs in Baltimore, Washington, Atlanta and Miami? I hear Rex Ryan is the front runner in Atlanta, and Baltimore is looking hard at Jason Garrett. Tony Sparano in Miami, and I don't know about Washington.
