The Patriots talk trash??? What??? NO!!! That only makes them the same as... wait... every other football team. Nobody on the Cowboys talks trash. T.O. is a nice guy. Roy Williams never injures people. God. You guys had Deion Sanders for several years. Give me a break.
You're right though that they've looked beatable the last two weeks. I think we can set aside the "best team of all time" talk for a while. They've squeaked by two mediocre teams in a row. It'll be interesting to see if this continues. it looks like the cold is slowing down that offense.

Yeah, I guess I just notice it more now with Patriots. Out of all of the teams in the league though, they talk the most trash. I haven’t heard anyone else proclaim that they do purposely go out with the intention to blow everyone out and that they do “want to kill everybody.”
And I don’t know about you but everyone on that team seems like a bunch of stuck-up guys. Tom Brady sure does look arrogant and cocky all of the time and I don’t think you can say the same about Tony Romo. Let’s just say that it will be extra nice when they do lose.

I read this somewhere else so let me give credit there. But it was inspiring and poignant to see Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Willis McGahee play as passionately as they did Monday night. The Ravens simply dominated and crushed the Patriots on Monday and they had plenty of opportunities to end/seal/ice the game for good. A big part of that credit goes to that trio of players whom all attended the University of Miami.
Apparently, no matter when they play for the school, all ex-“The U” players have a strong, close bond and support each other like family. Reed, Lewis and McGahee were huddled together before the game and went out and played their hearts out, left it all on the field and played exceptionally amazing.
I just thought I’d share that with all of you, if you hadn’t read it already.

Saw it too. I've always like U of M, and think that they have consistently produced top notch players.
You can imagine, the Ravens' game was heartbreaking for me, for two reasons. The first is, as usual, the Ravens beat themselves. No one has to beat them, because they will happily shoot themselves in the foot time and again. Penalties, confusion, the works. The time out was inexcusable. It showed a fundamental lack of confidence in the stoutness of the defense, which it didn't deserve.
The second is even worse. Where in the hell have Monday night's Ravens been all season long? If they had brought half the amount of game to the Bengals, or the Bills that they showed on Monday, we could be real contenders for that division. Instead, we're basement dwellers, because you never know who is going to show up. Is it fumbling incompetent Kyle Boller, or strong and accurate KB? Is it determined and talented Ray Lewis, or loud mouthed and disgusted Ray Lewis? Is it Billick the offensive genius, or Billick the lost soul?
If the Patriots have one thing that makes them better than the teams around them, it's consistency.

I think that's probably the best week's picks ever made. What would you all say?
Anyway. Here's next week's picks.
den @ HOU Sage Rosenfels? Who?? CIN @ sf Yawn. GB @ stl Brett Favre. No more needed. BAL @ mia This game will be close. Sadly. SEA @ car Seattle has a cupcake schedule matched only by the Patriots. TEN @ kc KC's out. They're spiraling like the Lions. nyj @ NE Tom Brady will score more than the Jets have scored...this decade... ARI @ no Kurt Warner will not make so many mistakes this game. buf @ CLE Just 1 game behind in the AFC North, which they haven't won since 1844. jax @ PIT Conservative call. But this is game of the week atl @ TB Without a head coach? Um, no. IND @ oak One team is good, the other isn't. phi @ DAL Dallas:NFC::Patriots:AFC. det @ SD Detroit may just finish 6-10. 8 consecutive losses to close out the season? was @ NYG The Giants are too good to give away another year in the playoffs. chi @ MIN

den @ HOU I'm sure there is a game this week that I care less about, but it's hard to imagine CIN @ sf ari @ NO atl @ TB It's not like losing Petrino is really going to make them worse, is it? bal @ MIA Usually the winner is the one who "wants it the most." Here, the loser is the one who "cares the least." Miami finally wins one buf @ CLE GB @ stl jac @ PIT I wish things were different, but they're not SEA @ car TEN @ KC IND @ oak det @ SD phi @ DAL was @ NYG chi @ MIN Vikings are my NFC sleeper. They could go far into the play offs. NYJ @ ne The Jets are ready for a radical statement against a team that is steadily weakening. New England's satisfactory run ends here. They will lose every game from here on out.
Nah. Just kidding. The Patriots will win by >25 points. But I had you going there for a minute, didn't I?
