Whenever I read a book (rarely) I tend to cast it in my head as a movie. It makes it more enjoyable for me. I often wonder what people here look like as well which sort of adds to the mystique of online interaction. So, here it is. We're pretending that Metacritic decided to make movie and it's up to us to cast it. Who's playing who or who's playing you? Obviously, most of us have no idea what most others look like here so have fun with it. My picks are in no way intended to insult or ridicule anyone on purpose. I'm just going off personalities and the mental images I've created over time. Here are some picks to start things off.....

mark f played by Liam Neeson
FragileKidA played by Tobey Maguire
ericg75 played by Matt Damon
mleland played by Jason Lee (Oscar the grouch had a previous commitment) Wink
Filmore Mescalito Holmes played by Jack Black
Monkey_Boy played by a young Forest Whitaker
Sinister played by Macaulay Culkin
Mike played by Jeff Goldblum

I'll come up with some more later.

Yeah, this is fun. What might be even more fun is to recast a movie already made with our members; you know, something like Star Wars or The Big Lebowski (or anything at all)?

Matt Damon, huh? Cool

I don't know about the mark f-Liam Neeson thing. Neeson seems way too stuffy to play mark. Plus, I know what mark looks like, and it's not Liam Neeson.

Before I knew what mark looked like, I always imagined Tommy Chong, which even after knowing what mark looks like, it still isn't a bad choice.

I’ll be Ben Gazzara, you’ll be Gena Rowlands.

Yeah, think Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now with Tommy Chong's head and a red beard. Cool

I've never seen mark but, to be completely honest, I always pictured him looking like Bruce Vilanch. It was just the image that popped into my head when I first joined here and I'm not sure why. Either way, I figured that Mr. Neeson could pull it off but, he may be too stuffy and up tight.

Forest Whitaker? I dunno, I've always thought of myself as a light-skinned Ving Rhames. Wink

You forgot about Ishmaels coffin! How's aboooouut... a nutty Hugh Jackman... or maybe Paul Hogan? Big Grin

I'm only curious about the female members of the board. If any of them think they could be portrayed by Jennifer Connelly or Zooey Deschanel, then please private message your phone number.

Hey, can someone manipulate my words into something so twisted in its tragic irony I might wish to kill myself? P-Bo perhaps? ;p

The importance of being earnest indeed.

Ask and you shall receive. You shall be portrayed by Jim Varney. Wink

There are actually many "details" to work out before this baby goes into production such as plot and general purpose.

I think crazed will be played by Owen Wilson with a voice-over from Luke Wilson and dubbed musical numbers (just in case) performed by Carnie Wilson ala West Side Story.

Does this mean I get to direct!!

Oh, and Macauley Culkin is not too far off the mark for Sinister. But Sinister has really long blond hair. So, I've always thought he looked like a very young Kurt Cobain, without all the "issues."

Ishmael is definitely Hugh Jackman.

And I had MJ as Jack Black.

FYI -- When I was in college and worked at B&N, complete strangers would tell me I look like Nic Cage.

I wonder why... Roll Eyes

I don't know about EG75 played by Damon. Damon is ice-cold. EG is a little more friendly, easy going...although I can't think of an actor off the top of my head.

And I know for a fact that EG75 is a better actor than Matt Damon! John Hodgman, maybe?
