The purpose of this thread is to post suggestions directed to the forum moderators.
Here's mine.
Instead of having Star Wars and Spiderman series message boards. Why not just an umbrella topic--movie series--which could include a number of series--Matrix, James Bond, or anything the fine posters here at Metacritic would like to share. This, of course, would not go in effect in the game boards, for almost every game is a series, or has twenty sequels.
Eh, one more thing, is there a board where you can suggest things to metacritic--a Back Talk section--or is this it?? If not, I'd highly suggest one.

Actually, we are planning on having a separate topic for each movie or movie series that generates a lot of posts... we started with those three (Star Wars, Spider-Man, LOTR) and will add more as needed. However, we will take you up on your idea to combine them into a more general "Series" topic if there doesn't wind up being enough traffic to merit keeping them separate.
There is no "Metacritic Suggestions" topic yet, but feel free to start a thread here in "Off-Topic Posts" (unless the suggestions pertain to a particular genre--then you should probably start the thread under "General Music Discussion," etc.).

Its probably too early to judge how valuable having seperate forums for them is, but I think traffic in them will really pick up as more people sign on with the forums. Especially with the Extended Cut of RotK coming out soon aswell as GTA:San Andreas and whenever Episode 3 is going to come out.
Houses on the left hand side of the page indicate if there are new posts in a forum (if coloured) or not (in B and W).

Actually, Julie, the Film Editor, is not a big forums fan... She checks in every now and then to see what people are talking about, but rarely chimes in. Why do you ask?? If you've got a specific question for her, I'm sure she'd answer...

Oh no. I was just wondering since, you and Music Editor, add to the conversation quite a bit and Ive never seen a Movie Editor, if one even existed or if one of you doubled as one.

She's too cool for us regular people who like to post in forums... No, actually, she'd just busy and has a social life, and has never been into forums, chatrooms, IM'ing, etc. But she loves taking care of the film section....

Avatars can be fun, but I think as a group, we decided that these forums were going to more about interesting, thoughtful, fun conversations -- not how cool you can make your avatars look. So we'll leave it at that for now.
Incidentally, we have no control over the number of items you can put in a Poll. The max is 5, so if you've got a discussion that requires a list longer than 5, don't use the poll.

Is there anyway we can edit our user ratings/comments when we "review" something at Metacritic? I try to proofread everything before I post, but frequently I miss my typos. I like the fact that I can fix my comments here at the forums, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do it over there.

Actually, no. The three editors do our best to look out for obvious typos and we actually correct what we can, but there's no way for you to edit those. They're pretty much set in stone. If somebody found something offensive or objectionable, an email to that editor would be fine, and he or she could go into that particular user review and edit it, but not just for a typo.

Who does? Because I find them to be very enjoyable.
Actually, the Music Editor writes those little blurbs, the ones on the main film page, and on the upcoming movies calendar. The job descriptions of the three editors really overlap quite a bit. The Music Editor knows a lot about movies, I'm definitely into music & movies, etc. So we don't put up solid walls between our departments.
But I agree that those blurbs are hilarious.
