I'm no expert on it either, but I've heard that the prime motivator for pedophiles is power, not sex. If that's so, chemical castration may have little to no effect.
I dunno. Castration of any kind would put, at least, a little fear in a man. (Personally, I think they'd be more successful if they used rubberbands like they do with bulls.) Besides, it cuts off the person's testosterone, which plays a major factor in power & aggression.
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Yeah, it is strange. It's amazing the amount of violence that's present on TV here, but for some reason a nipple needs to be censored. I think it's perhaps telling that the two people who volunteered when they lost their virginity are both Australian.
On the subject of castration, I can't think of many punishments I would prefer castration to. Death. Life in prison. Does your opinion on that change as you get older?
