I know of the Free Tibet movement but am not actively involved. A few of my friends are enthusiastic about it enough to have pursuaded me to its validity, I just don't have the time, energy, or desire to pursue it. http://www.savetibet.org/

I really think that if you live in the US, you should focus your energies on the faults and problems in the US government, not the faults of an Asian country halfway around the world.

My only issue with that is that things are already relatively good in the US compared to a lot of areas in the world. Of course this country has major problems, but not nearly like those in Tibet or Sudan for example. For someone interested in the general good of all mankind, more can be accomplished in places outside of the States. For example, while gender equality is still an issue in the US, it's much more prevelant in other countries. So the advancement of all women would be much better served elsewhere.
