So does anybody here celebrate St. Paddy's Day by either watching an Irish-themed movie, listening to Irish music, eating any specific foods, or getting crocked?
I'm cooking the corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes and carrots, and I'll be definitely having a few beers, including Guinness. My family usually likes to watch The Quiet Man, but we probably won't tonight. Anybody else have any plans or rituals, or perhaps favorite Irish-themed movies and music?

No, m.leland, I wanna know what you do differently today from EVERY other day! Or at least define those drinks more specifically, if you can still type.

Well, I'm part Irish (I think that explains why I can't tan, or maybe I should just go outside during the daytime more often) so I like to party a little. I am not exactly 21 so I, OF COURSE, wouldn't drink any alcoholic beverages but I wear green. As far as movies and music go, I don't play either of those because, frankly, I don't know much about Irish music or movies.

I usually go to a good bar and drink Guinness. GOOD Guinness. They've improved the "widget" in the cans and bottles (Guinness in bottles used to taste like crap!) but nothing beats a good pub pour of Guinness, done right (half pour-settle-half pour-settle!).
Nothing too exciting this year, though. I had papers to grade before Friday...

I tried Guinness for the first time last night. That stuff is sooooo good!! I had a beer like that before, where its really thick and dark...a locally made beer. (don't make it anymore)..it was a lot stronger than that and I could drink it, but barely finish the bottle...so i'm used to strong beers....yummmmmm
