I just started an ebay account and began searching for stuff to buy, particularly cds and band shirts. I noticed, of course, they are much cheaper than the store (and amazon) but does anyone have any experience in ebay music/apparrel shopping? I don't want to buy a burned cd.

Well, I'm NOT positive about music, but I can tell you that eBay does block people who sell burned DVD's or knock-off products. I ordered a few Disney DVD's & it turned out they were copies & a few weeks later, after many complaints, they were shut down. My mother also sold homemade purses & was temporarily kicked off when she just compared them to a name brand. She learned her lesson reeeeaal quick. So, I would say it's pretty safe, if you do get a burned CD, all you gotta do is complain & chances are good, they'll never sell another one.

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

I don't buy cds or dvds off ebay much anymore. I usually go with amazon marketplace and half.com where the shipping & handling charges are set. Except for a very late arriving cd once or twice, I haven't had any problems with either shop. I have recieved a couple burned cds off ebay sellers and many times have decided against bidding or purchasing there because of outrageous S&H charges.

I've bought a couple of LPs off ebay before, and I guess my best advice is really just common sense. Seller rating is big, make sure the positive feedback percentage is in the high 90s, actually check out their feedback to see how valid the complaints are, look at the product photos and use your best judgment, anything that seems too good to be true probably is. From personal experience and friends it seems to be pretty well regulated so it'll be fairly hard to get ripped.

Thanks, that was all very helpful. I'm just trying to find a good store to buy cds from. Crazed is right, too, the shipping is outrageous.

For ebay it depends on the item.
