Would you like lies with that?

Interesting link, rubberchicken.

Since we already have a thread on religion here, I'm gonna close this one to comments. Let's have the discussion on this vid over there.

The idea of a thread is an individual idea, you can't just group everything on the subject of religion into one thread.. thats preposterous.

Since you were trying to have a discussion about religion, it's not an individual idea. A thread called 'friendly discussion on religion' does exactly what you were trying to do here, doesn't it?

The point is to keep the number of superfluous threads to a minimum so that people can sort through them more easily. Forum policy:

"3. Do not start a new thread if there already is one on your subject. Yes, this means you must scan the existing threads first to ensure that you are not duplicating one."

The idea of the thread is an individual idea, but your ideas are still subject to the rules of the Forum. Considering that much of what's in that video has been discussed in the existing thread, I think the subject you want to cover is already being addressed in the older thread.

Not to mention that the 'friendly talk on religion' thread is a very popular thread, with well over 13000 views and over 200 replies, which, I assume, is something you'd want.

Since rubberchicken feels so strongly about his thread being something different from the existing religion thread, though, I'll leave it open to comments.

Not really because then it fades and disappears into the sea of posts. All the genres of music have there own subforums.
But at the end of the day one thread probably is more than enough for the subject at hand... you're right Big Grin

True enough, but lots of threads also fade away. There are at least 25 in the General Discussion cluster alone that have never received comments.

But your point is taken...and may be served by my mention in the main religion thread as well.

As I said before, I do find the video quite interesting.

Though I pretty much agree with everything that was said, that dude has got to be the lames narrator this side of Ben Stein.
